Trying New Things: Hiking

I woke up early this morning and went on a short hike.

I just love the names of the hiking trails.

And the view was pretty amazing too.

Now I have the rest of the day to relax.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

    1. Thank you, Tamara. That would be fun too. I wanted to keep going but my boys were getting tired. We ended up hiking just four miles.

      1. I think four miles is 10,000 steps. Was it flat, or many up and down hills? I take Cliff Bars with me. Swimming in lakes and rivers is fun but be careful for rapids. Even small ones are stronger than they look.

      2. It was mostly uphill. The hike back down was the easy part. I am thinking about bringing a lunch next time. There were some tables up top. A nice place for a picnic.

  1. That’s cool, I love to hike. I do a lot of my best thinking out in nature. There’s not a lot of it where I live but enough for a decent hour walk without any sight of cars or other people, usually.

    1. It is nice to have that quiet time alone to think.

I don’t hike very often because I have to start very early before it heats up.

However, I really enjoy how crisp the air feels in the morning and everything has a very clean refreshing scent.

I am looking forward to going again.

  2. Hey Serene, I couldn’t help but stop by this post as I’ve also been doing lots of hiking recently too. Considering I wouldn’t go anywhere on my own since I’ve been married actually, now I go off walking miles in the countryside on my own, finding forests and lovely places to go, and seeing different horses and wildlife…. its fantastic!
It feels like freedom and being out in nature by yourself just exploring feels almost magical.
    It’s my new favourite thing…
I love having my own little adventures!
There is an app which my therapist told me about recently that records your hikes and you can put pics on it, of the hike and it tells you how far you went and all sorts…. I think its “mapmyhike” its excellent.

    Have fun exploring! 😊

    1. Thank you. Nice to hear from you. I am glad you are out enjoying life. I just got home from going out on a houseboat with my children. We had a really good time. I didn’t have any cell service for a few days but it was nice to on the water.
